Tombo- South Kensington. £-££.

A stone’s throw from the French Embassy and Hyde Park, Tombo is a beehive for tourists and local residents alike. It’s buzzing when we visit, and offering both takeaway and eat in options, there’s a twenty minute wait for the latter. So we do wait- and boy, is it worth it. There are only so many places in London which offer an oriental spin on the traditionally English afternoon tea, and Tombo is one of them. Served up beautifully on super modern slate tiers, it’s a sushi and matcha mini feast- all accompanied by a tea of your choice. For ramen and rice bowl lovers, there’s also a full menu of heavier japanese dishes available, as well as a display of freshly baked desserts for all your sweet tooth needs.
